SymbolSupport Lite is a complimentary application designed to facilitate the reception, vocalization, and printing of documents created with the SymbolSupport app. Notably, it lacks the functionality to create or edit documents. Users have the option to upgrade to the full version via the in-app Store.

SymbolSupport serves as an effective utility for iPad users seeking to enhance their textual communication with symbols. As users type, corresponding symbols are automatically integrated above the text. The application also allows for the copying of text from existing materials, pasting it into SymbolSupport where symbols are promptly applied. The high-quality text-to-speech feature, accompanied by word-by-word highlighting, further aids comprehension, particularly beneficial for students navigating class assignments.

The application includes a collection of symbols derived from Slater Literacy Support Pictures™ and Attainment’s Image Library. Additionally, users can easily access their camera roll and conduct an internet image search within the app. Editing tools are intuitive, enabling users to modify auto-assigned symbols, replace them with imported images, or remove symbols altogether to streamline visual content.

SymbolSupport is designed for the efficient creation of symbol-enhanced text while also prioritizing document sharing capabilities. Users can share their work via AirDrop, email, or any cloud storage service configured on their iPad. Documents can be exported as PDFs for student portfolios or shared with parents. Additionally, they can be sent as SymbolSupport files compatible with both SymbolSupport and SymbolSupport Lite applications.
